Subsurface Drip Irrigation

WHAT IS SUBSURFACE?

A subsurface drip system (SDS) is a pressure distribution system that can deliver irrigation water or pretreated wastewater at slow controlled rates (measured in gallons per hour) directly to the soil.  The flow is discharged from evenly spaced emitters in small diameter, flexible polyethylene tubing (dripline), which is available with various emitter discharge rates and spacings to match soil characteristics.  Frequent, evenly spaced doses maximizes the unsaturated capillary flow in the soil.

Hidden below ground, in the root zone of the pants, water usage and fertilizers are reduced, as well as weeds.
